What obstacle is your character facing? Again, keep it focused on the person you are speaking to.
Since she’s trying to get a message across to all of humanity, the thing keeping her from getting what she wants is the inherent greed that our race is known for. She knows she can’t stay for long, so she has to get her message across in the short time that she does have. She spent most of her time on earth sightseeing, so she’s unaware of how crazy she truly sounds, when talking about other worlds.
2. What will be the consequence if your character does not get what they want? What is at stake?
The eventual decay of the earth's environment, resulting in the self imposed destruction of humanity. She saw and survived the destruction of her own world despite her best efforts, she couldn’t bear to see it again.
Emily, I continue to enjoy this lovely and imaginative character that you have built. As you continue to create characters and worlds in the future, I encourage you to concentrate on creating grounded stakes for even your most cosmic characters. I love the idea that she is trying to save a world because her own was destroyed; that is compelling and beautiful. But be careful of relying on a character sounding crazy or being different as a tool; allow those particularities to come from the obstacles. I can't wait to see the video next. Thank you for your creativity.
