1. What obstacle is your character facing? Again, keep it focused on the person you are speaking to. 3 sentences
My character wants to get hours at wok, even though his manager told him he can’t. He has been sick recently and the manager doesn’t want to take the risk of allowing him to go to work. He is hoping that over the phone he can persuade the manager to allow him to work.
2. What will be the consequence if your character does not get what they want? What is at stake? 3 sentences.
If he doesn’t get the hours he might not be able to attend school during the fall semester. Also he will be stuck in his toxic household where anything can happen. Furthermore, he won’t be able to pay to go to the doctors and get checked out.
Keon, this is a great set up. Your character has a clear goal and your tactic of "persuade" will be a strong verb for you to play. The stakes are clear and grounded. When getting ready to post the final video, I encourage you to use the ideas about paying for school and for medical care as points to the manager. I wonder if your character can go from "pursaiding" to "begging" or even "demanding" as the manager continues to refuse hours. I am really looking forward to your monologue.
